  This week AAFS Friday is heading to the Calgary Expo! Every year, Calgary Expo offers exciting family-friendly attractions, events, and world-renowned celebrities! Everyone is a fan of something, and Calgary Expo is the place to celebrate all things pop culture. Get an autograph or a photo with your favourite guest, then get the inside scoop about your favourite movies and TV shows. Watch professional Comic Artists battle it out in popular Sketch Duels, learn from "How To" workshops, and take photos with your favourite costumed characters!

  Cost:

  • Admission: Full Price ($28) Advanced Price ($23)

  • Lunch: $10-15 (or bring a lunch from home)

  AAFS Cochrane is partnering with Sleeping Giants Theatre to put on a brand new program. The group will play various drama games, practice scripts reading and finish the program off with a bang by showcasing our performance for our closest friends and family members!

  Please note: Fellowship activities are designed for youth ages 18 and over and have less staff than a typical AAFS Activity.

   Come to the First Ever Cochrane Fellowship Event! This is super exciting for us and we get to come together and meet new friends. Were going to share a meal together, listening to some live music and enjoying a cool restaurant in Cochrane. 

   The Venue on Thursday Nights has a Karaoke Party at 7:30pm. So we can watch and maybe participate if we want to for half of our time there! 

  Activity Fee: Please bring around 15-25 dollars for food

  The first half of this activity will focus on moving our bodies through a series of yoga practices. Afterwards, we will connect with one another chatting and having high tea! We'll put on a kettle of tea (or hot chocolate), have snacks and have some great conversations. 

  The goal of this program is to:

  • Learn how different music can affect thoughts/feelings which can be expressed through visual art
  • Increase physical literacy and activity levels through low-impact movements
  • Increase knowledge and appreciation for intentional self-care practices
  • Provide a safe space for discussion of any appropriate topics and

  general socialization

  Members are encouraged to bring their own yoga mats and wear active

  Grab your favourite set of wheels- bike, skateboard, longboard, scooter, etc. as we scoot through the beautiful Nose Creek Regional Park! We'll soak up the sun, run over some crunchy leaves and enjoy a super scenic ride. All riding abilities are welcome, as we ride through the park. 

  Please bring enough water and a snack from home -  we will have some down-time between riding at the park. Please ensure you are dressed appropriately for the weather and perhaps bring a backpack with extra layers. 

  **All youth participating in this activity must wear a helmet when biking! Please bring your own from home
